Georgia exported 23.7 tons of honey worth USD 215.2 thousand   in  eight months of 2024. The reduction in the amount totals to 55%, while in the volume - 64.4% compared to the same period of the previous  year.

Last year's top five exporters were Czech Republic, France, Bulgaria, Lebanon, and United Arab Emirates.

Exports to EU countries declined  by 98%. This year, Georgia has exported 6.5 thousand natural honey to 27 EU countries.

It's worth mentioning  that on the other hand, exports were reduced by 30%  in the last 8 months of 2023 compared to 2022, while exports to the EU - by 43.3%.

According to the  National Statistics Office, in January-August 2024,  Georgia exported honey to the following countries:

United Arab Emirates - 7 tons worth of USD 99.9 thousand;

USA - 3.2 tons worth of USD 34.1 thousand;

Azerbaijan - 7.7 tons worth of USD 25.8 thousand;

Iraq - 2.9 tons worth of USD 21.8 thousand;

Japan - 600 kg worth of USD 10.1 thousand.
