“Georgia sees a shortage of qualified engineers and and technicians ,” ex-Minister of Energy David Mirtskhulava says.

According to the ex-Minister , it’s a common problem faced by the country that is experiencing a shortage of not only engineers, but other specialties.

“The country needs a lot of engineers, there are a lot of jobs in the energy sector that require young staff, but the sector sees their shortage. We are not facing a shortage of jobs, but qualified staff. We need a lot of specialists, but engineering is a very difficult profession compared to others, so few people chose it, despite very high demand. Many projects are carried out in the country which need qualified staff but there are almost no specialists,” he stresses.
