Demand for horseback riding tours in Georgia has tripled, - HORSETOURS.GE founder Ana Nadiradze states.

According to Nadiradze, compared to previous years, the interest of the locals has increased significantly. In particular, if before only 1% of the clients were local, now this number has soared to 10%.

"This year we have focused on the local market and are working in almost all regions where  horseback riding tours can be arranged. 90% of our customers are foreigners, including from the European countries - Germany, England, as well as Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Arab countries. Currently, we have about 250 clients a month.

The most in-demand tours are the tours not far from Tbilisi as  not everyone can go on multi-day tours. Hourly and one-day tours are very popular. The most popular tourist destinations are Kazbegi, Truso Valley and Borjomi," Ana Nadiradze notes.

In the words of the HORSETOURS.GE founder, the quality of guide services has improved in the country but still the issue remains a problem. Eastern Georgia is more developed in terms of horseback riding tourism.

As for prices, Ana Nadiradze notes that tour prices in Eastern Georgia are lower.

"Hourly tours start from 50 GEL, one-day tours start from 120 GEL, multi-day tours start from 650 GEL, etc. The cost of the tour depends on the distance and number of days," says Ana Nadiradze.

Note: horsetours.ge platform was created 2 years ago to develop equestrian tourism.

As the introduction of contemporary technologies, digitization, and e-commerce is one of the numerous difficulties facing equestrian tourism, the platform accomplishes this goal by increasing accessibility for a larger audience by embracing e-commerce and digitalization.

The startup aims to digitize the industry and increase accessibility, both for the customer and for the service provider. horsetours.ge was awarded a GITA grant of $30,000.
