Corn flour is one of the products which price drastically rose last month by 35.4%. The product has been going up in price for a few months. In March the price increased by 68%, in February – by 79.6%, in January – by 83%.
It’s worth mentioning that in unison with price hikes of corn flour, its import decreased significantly. In 2023, only 2.3 tons of products worth $ 5.2 thousand were imported into Georgia against 259.9 tons worth $ 52.2 thousand in the same period of last year.
Turkey, Russia and Italy are the main suppliers of corn flour to Georgia.
