Data from 2021 shows that  "Nikora Trade" is the most profitable retail trade network in Georgia (GEL 651 million), followed by "Ori Nabiji" ( GEL593 million), and "Carrefour" ( million). FinSPOT has published the ranking of the most profitable supermarket chains.

FinSPOT reports that by revenue, Magnit is the fourth in the list (GEL 460 million), Foodmart (Spar and Ioli — GEL 388 million) is the fifth, Agrohub — the sixth (GEL 154 million), Goodwill takes the seventh place (GEL 148 million).

In terms of operating profit, Nikora, Ori Nabiji and Foodmart top the rating.

According to FinSPOT, the main advantages of large retail chains compared to independent/small markets are as follows:

• Purchasing products from suppliers on better terms and offering lower prices to customers;

Higher margin for private labels;

• Ability to develop distribution networks tailored to the company;

• Depending on the scale, easier access to financing;

• High budget for marketing and raising brand awareness;

• Higher customer loyalty, due to product variety and brand awareness.


By revenues, "Ori Nabiji" overtakes "Carrefour", "Agrohub" is ahead of "Goodwill".
