Ukraine has received the European Union’s accession conditions for the three final negotiation clusters, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
"Today, the Ukrainian delegation in Brussels received the European Union’s accession benchmarks for the final three negotiating clusters," Svyrydenko notes.
According to her, these clusters are Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth, Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity, and Resources, Agriculture, and Cohesion Policy.
All tasks are now on the table. Ukraine has received the final conditions for EU accession
Thus, for the first time in history, Ukraine now has a complete set of conditions that must be met for EU accession. In December, the Ukrainian side received the conditions—benchmarks—for the other three clusters: Fundamentals of the EU Accession Process, Internal Market, and External Relations.
"Ukraine is moving confidently along its path to European integration. The swift completion of the official screening of Ukrainian legislation for compliance with EU law demonstrates the country’s institutional capacity and readiness to move to the next stage. The next steps are successful closure of the clusters and signing of the Accession Treaty, the final step toward Ukraine’s full membership in the European Union," Svyrydenko adds.
She also emphasizes that the government will continue to fulfill the accession conditions—implementing the necessary reforms and measures and reporting to the EU. The government will immediately forward the document containing the conditions to the Verkhovna Rada for joint work on their implementation.
