The Turkish lira again fell to a historic low against the US dollar. Portal announced this Trading Economics.

According to the portal, the national currency of Turkey fell to 27.01 lira per one US dollar. In recent weeks, the lira has been trading at 26.95.

Back in July, it became known about the decline of the Turkish national currency to a record level against the background of the fact that the Central and state banks of Turkey stopped supporting the national currency in anticipation of a meeting of the regulator on monetary policy.

Reports of a record collapse of the Turkish lira appeared in June as well. The exchange rate of the national currency of the country has significantly decreased against the dollar after the increase in the key rate by the Central Bank. As explained by the regulator, this decision is connected with the intention to take control of price increases. Representatives of the department then announced a gradual increase in the rate.
