Russia’s state labeling system Chestny Znak has suspended the sale of specific batches of Jermuk mineral water produced by Armenia’s Jermuk Group over alleged violations of mandatory requirements, while Armenian authorities say they have not yet received any official notification from Russian regulators.
According to reports in Russian and Armenian media, the affected products are bottles of naturally carbonated medicinal table mineral water under the Jermuk brand, produced on February 17 and March 5, 2026.
The Russian state marking system Chestny Znak reportedly blocked the circulation of these batches following instructions from Rospotrebnadzor, Russia’s consumer protection watchdog.
According to the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT), the operator of the Chestny Znak system, the decision was based on a letter from Rospotrebnadzor citing “violations of mandatory standards” and the “need to take urgent measures to prevent possible harm to the life and health of citizens of the Russian Federation.”
CRPT Deputy Director General Revaz Yusupov said that around 338,000 bottles were in circulation across Russia and have now been blocked in the system.
“Products with production dates of 17.02.2026 and 05.03.2026 have been blocked in the system. Until the inspection is completed, they will not reach consumers,” Yusupov said.
Armenia’s Food Safety Inspectorate said it has so far received no official communication on the matter from Russian authorities, including either Rospotrebnadzor or Rosselkhoznadzor.
