After a long pause direct flights from Yekaterinburg to Georgia will be resumed next week, Chairman of the Ural Tourism Association (UTA) Mikhail Maltsev said at a press conference.
“Air traffic with Georgia is restored, the first flight will be operated, direct flights will be carried out to Tbilisi as well,” Maltsev said.
According to the calendar of Yekaterinburg Koltsovo International Airport, flights will be operated by Red Wings Airlines. The air carrier will start flying to Kutaisi from October 31 on Tuesdays and Sundays; to Tbilisi from November 2 on Thursdays and Sundays. Currently, flights are not operated from Koltsovo to Georgia.
Georgian side has not yet commented the reports about the flights from Yekaterinburg.
It was reported that the number of direct flights between Russia and Georgia will exceed 45 per week in November, including 28 weekly flights between Moscow and Tbilisi.
