Pashinyan says Georgia made no request about his EU Parliament statement

There was no request or appeal from the Georgian side, - stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a briefing.

When asked whether there had been a request from the Georgian side to say during his speech in the European Parliament that “one of the biggest obstacles on Armenia’s path to integration into the European Union is the freezing of political dialogue between the European Union and Georgia,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan replied that “there was no request or appeal from the Georgian side.”

“However, on the other hand, we have a common agenda on which we are working. From the rostrum of the European Parliament, I expressed my concern because we are truly worried about the situation in relations between the European Union and Georgia. This worries us,” - stated Pashinyan.

“Georgia is our path to the European Union, and we adopted a law on launching the process of Armenia’s accession to the European Union after Georgia received EU candidate status. This made Armenia’s prospect of joining the European Union tangible, and it is our expectation and request that the constructive process between the European Union and Georgia develop. This is as important for Armenia as it is for Georgia,” - noted the Armenian Prime Minister.
