According to the National Bank of Georgia, in April 2023 remittances increased by 20.0% year-on-year and stood at $ 369.7 million.
Remittances increased annually from the main donor countries such as: Russia (+20.0% y/y, -28.7% m/m, 43.2% of the total amount), Italy (+22.3%), USA (+36.7%), Greece (+9.4%) , Germany (+50.4%), Israel (+4.7%) and Turkey (+13.7%).
At the same time, money transfers decreased from Kazakhstan (-1.5%) and Azerbaijan (-3.4%).
