In April 2024, the volume of remittance flows into the country declined by 24.8% compared to the same period of last year and stood at $ 278.5 million.

According to NBG, the share of remittances from EU countries increased to 41.8% against 28% in the same period of last year. Money transfers increased by more than 12% annually.


The central bank reports that last month the largest amount of remittances was transferred from Italy, Greece and Germany.

In April 2024, the most remittances were made from the following EU countries:

• Italy - $45,803 million;

• Greece - $21,913 million;

• Germany - $20,710 million.
