The rate of card payments has increased significantly recently. In February 2024, 77 million transactions worth GEL 7 billion were carried out with Georgian card instruments in Georgia and abroad.
The volume of transactions carried out with Georgian cards outside the country in February amounted to GEL 687 million, in January-February - about GEL 1.4 billion per month.
As for the transactions carried out with Georgian cards outside the country in February, their volume amounted to GEL 4.5 million.
According to the National Bank, the number of credit cards in circulation in Georgia in February 2024 stood at 530 thousand units, as for debit cards, there are 8.3 million units in circulation.
