In 10 months of 2024, Georgia bought 124,046 tons of sugar worth $80.4 million against 122,782 tons of sugar worth $83.8 million in the same period of last year.

Based on the above statistical data, the country's import volume soared by 1%, the cost of production declined by 3.8%.

Brazil remains the main sugar importer for Georgia. This year, Georgia purchased 48,500 tons of sugar worth $27.1 million from this country in the first 10 months. It’s worth mentioning that imports from Brazil have decreased by 11%, last year 54,550 tons of sugar worth $34.4 million were brought into the country.
