Milk production in Georgia has been gradually plummeting over the past decade. In the fourth quarter of 2024, milk production amounted to 102.5 million liters that is 2.2% less than in the same period of last year. The annual milk production rate for 2024 was 570.7 million liters that is 2.3% lower than the corresponding figure for 2023.

Milk imports hit all-time high, in January-February alone, Georgia purchased 3,447 tons of milk worth $3.4 million that is 93% higher in quantity tems and 35.5% higher in value than in the same period of last year.

The largest amount of milk is imported to Georgia from Azerbaijan, Poland and Belarus.
