Imports of electric vehicles are at their peak. According to the National Statistics Office, in January-February this year, 927 units (16.388 million USD) of electric vehicles were imported into the country that is record high compared to previous years. In addition, about a 100% increase was recorded compared to the same period of 2024.

January-February 2017 - 10 units (85.3 thousand USD)

As per the Sakstat data, the average import value of one electric vehicle in January-February stood at 17.7 thousand USD, compared to 20.4 thousand USD in the same period of last year. (Note: The price is calculated using average figures without taxes. Accordingly, depending on the car make and model, the cost may be higher or lower.)

The top three importers of electric vehicles in the first two months are the USA, China and Belgium.


More specifically, the top five importing countries are as follows:


USA - 702 units (10.261 million USD)


China - 100 units (2.155 million USD)


Belgium - 40 units (1.611 million USD)


Japan - 35 units (239.3 thousand USD)


Germany - 24 units (1.303 million USD)
