With the support of the National Wine Agency, 9 Georgian wine-producing companies participated in the international wine and alcoholic beverages exhibition “ProWein Tokyo.”

The “ProWein Tokyo 2025” exhibition was attended by up to 50,000 visitors, including wine professionals and representatives of the commercial sector. This is significant for increasing the awareness of Georgian wine in Japan, establishing a foothold in the market, and finding new trade partners.

ProWein Tokyo” was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Japan, Teimuraz Lezhava. To support the presentation of Georgian wine at the exhibition, the Georgian entrepreneurs also received assistance from the Embassy of Georgia in Japan.

An educational masterclass and tasting of Georgian wine was also held in Tokyo, attended by 30 wine professionals, media representatives, and members of the commercial sector.

The tasting was led by Frédéric Cayuela, an expert from the Academie du Vin (Wine Academy of France), who is also active in Japan’s wine industry and represents the Japanese company “Oteroirs K.K.” Seven different types of Georgian wine were presented during the tasting.

Japan is one of the strategic markets for Georgian wine. With the support of the National Wine Agency, the first large-scale presentation of Georgian wine in Japan took place in 2014. In the following years, also with the support of the National Wine Agency, Georgian wine companies participated in various exhibitions such as “Foodex Japan,” “Wine and Gourmet Japan,” “RAW Wine Tokyo,” and “ProWein Tokyo,” as well as local wine competitions and Georgian wine presentations and tastings held in different cities across Japan. At the same time, tours to Georgia were organized for Japanese wine professionals and media representatives.
