According to Mastercard SME Confidence Index SMEs, small and medium-sized businesses are driving force of growth in the post-pandemic environment and positively assesses future prospects.


Four out of ten small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Georgia predict sales growth, three
ones - income stability. Only 12% of respondents expect their income to fall over the next 12 months.

Optimism prevails in the Georgian business sector - 78% of small and medium-sized businesses are confident in their forecasts.

The study also covers areas where Georgian businesses need assistance. The main drivers of growth are staff training and qualifications (79%), digitalization of corporate operations (78%) and easy access to financial services and lending (89%).

Despite the optimistic forecast, small and medium-sized businesses in Georgia face difficulties, such as increased costs of running a business (38%) and the problem of repaying loans (36%).
