In the second quarter of 2024, the life insurance premiums amounted to GEL 55 mln against GEL 44 million in the same period of 2032.
In 6 months of the current year, "TBC Insurance" was the leader by life insurance premium volume and holds almost half (45%) of the market that amounted to GEL 24.4 million.
"Aldagi" was the second with GEL 7.6 million and occupied 26% of the market. The third and fourth places were occupied by "Imedi L" and "GPI" with GEL 4 million and GEL 1.5 million respectively. "Irao" completes the top five with GEL 1,7 million of premiums.
As per the data for 6 months of 2024, the insurance premium collected from direct insurance activities totaled GEL 712 million. In the same period, the insurance profit of the insurers stood at GEL 145 million, the net profit amounted to GEL 67 million.
The total assets of insurance companies stood at 1,564 million GEL, the capital made 431 million GEL.
As of June 30, 2024, 19 insurance companies holding life and non-life insurance licenses are registered in the country
