Executive Director of the Georgian Wheat and Flour Production Association Levan Silagava states that wheat and flour stocks in Georgia are stable and the sector is waiting for crops.


"At this stage, there is stability in the global flour and wheat market, the stocks are also stable. We wait for new crops in Georgia in a month. A program has launched to balanced tax on flour imports," Levan Silagava says.

Silagava forecasts that at this stage they expect to harvest 150 thousand tons of wheat.

"Farmers expect to harvest 150,000 tons of wheat that is 15-17% of the total consumption," Silagava notes.
