On February 5, the founder of the Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, will testify in the Tbilisi City Court in his own case, where he is the victim and the accused is the head of the Co-Investment Fund, Giorgi Bachiashvili.

At today's hearing, the prosecutor's office requested that Ivanishvili, as the victim, be questioned remotely using technical equipment. The prosecutor cited the victim's safety as one of the reasons for this, among other things.

According to the defense, the prosecution's motion is unfounded. Lawyer Levan Makharashvili asked Prosecutor Mikheil Sadradze from where Bidzina Ivanishvili should be questioned, as the law requires this to be specified.

To this, Sadradze replied that the victim will be questioned from the place indicated in the investigation protocol, namely, Sololaki.

According to the lawyer, the prosecutor indicated 2 reasons in the motion for requesting remote questioning of Ivanishvili, namely, the age of the victim and the long duration of the hearing, as well as the issue of Ivanishvili's safety.

According to Makharashvili, Bidzina Ivanishvili participated in the questioning for more than 5 hours during the investigation stage, without even requesting a break. According to the lawyer, the position that he would not be able to appear due to his age is unfounded.

In addition, according to Makharashvili, his safety is also unfounded. In particular, according to the lawyer, the victim was questioned at the prosecutor's office, the court is also an administrative building, and if necessary, Ivanishvili's safety will be protected.
