At a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of France Emmanuel Macron in New York, security and a winter support package were among the key topics discussed.
As noted by the Ukrainian president following the meeting with Macron, Ukraine is prepared to secure additional SAMP/T air defence systems and missiles for them using financial capabilities within the framework of the EU loan.
"We continue working on the possibility of producing these air defence systems and missiles in Ukraine, as well as on the joint FREYJA anti-ballistic programme with our partners. We expect to see the first results this year. We are doing everything we can to strengthen the protection of our people," Zelenskyy wrote on X.
Meanwhile, Macron discussed with US President Donald Trump initiatives for a mutual moratorium between Ukraine and Russia on strikes against energy infrastructure.
Prior to this, media outlets reported that Macron intended to encourage Trump to make the "right decisions" regarding Russia's war against Ukraine.
