Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participated in a panel discussion of the Concordia Annual Summit held within the framework of the UN General Assembly in New York, the PM’s office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The premier answered the moderator’s questions about the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the opportunities created as a result. Pashinyan noted that currently the work is focused on the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project, as a result of which regional connectivity will be fully opened. It will open a new era for Armenia and economy, the prime minister said, adding that this also brings to fruition the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” project.
Next, the head of Armenia spoke about cooperation between the country and the US in information technology and, in particular, in artificial intelligence (AI). Nikol Pashinyan said that as a result of the memorandum of understanding signed with the US on August 8 of last year, three AI centers were established in Armenia within a year, two of which are large-scale investment projects.
The premier touched also upon Armenia’s developments in information technology, and said that it is successfully developing in the country and is considered an important part of its economy. Nikol Pashinyan expressed a conviction that with the establishment of peace, the investment appeal of Armenia will consistently increase.
Also, the PM answered questions regarding the opportunities for achieving self-sufficiency in the energy sector, the formation of storage stations, and measures aimed at the construction of a new nuclear power plant in Armenia.
Speaking about Armenia’s relations with the US and the European Union, Nikol Pashinyan noted that a strategic partnership has been established in both directions and added that the Armenian government will continue to deepen its balanced and balancing foreign policy.
