"Kazbegi has never complained about the number of visitors, and 2025 has also been positive in this regard. The active period runs from the beginning of April to the end of October," Ani Alibegashvili, founder of the "Step Inn" hotel, told "Сommersant" radio.
According to her, November was also more active compared to 2024 with sales increase by 37%. From December to the end of March, tourist activity significantly decreases."
In the words of the founder of Step Inn hotel, Kazbegi has been experiencing a growing influx of tourists since 2007. This trend fuels the annual opening of 10 to 30 new facilities, designed for various customer segments. Apart from Stepantsminda and Gergeti, the business also expands reaching other villages. The season consistently sees a 5-10% annual growth.
"Our hotel opened in 2023, and in the first year, a significant number of visitors came from European countries. In 2024, 70% of visitors were from Arab countries, and this year, about 70% came from Israel followed by Indians. During the winter season, people from countries where there is not yet snow, or those who enjoy skiing, come here more actively," Ani Alibegashvili points out.
Alibegashvili believes that Kazbegi will soon remain active year-round, and with the opening of the new tunnel, the region will attract even more visitors.
