Only 21% of Georgians have private health insurance, according to the Insurance Supervision Service.

As of three months of 2006, 811,684 policies were issued that is by 38,348 ones more than in the same period of 2025. In 2024, 731,140 health insurance policies were issued in total.

In three months of 2026, the sum of collected insurance premiums in medical insurance hit GEL 303 million. Out of this, Imedi L collected GEL114.3 million, GPI collected GEL42.1 million, and ARDI collected GEL30.9 million.

As of March 31, 2026, there were 19 insurance companies licensed to offer life and non-life insurance in Georgia.
