Putin has threatened and started wars in the past: Georgia in 2008, Ukraine in 2014 and 2022. What will be the next target? - NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said at the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament.
He said there will be no peace if Putin achieves his goals in Ukraine.
“The future of Europe and global security depends on the outcome of the war in Ukraine. We all want the war to end, but first and foremost we want the peace to be lasting. I do not know how or when the war will end. I know that there will be no peace if Putin achieves his goals in Ukraine, because he will continue to advance. He has threatened and started wars in the past: Georgia in 2008, Ukraine in 2014 and 2022. What will be the next target? Peace will only last if Ukraine comes to the negotiating table with a strong position. And this requires our continued support," said Mark Rutte.
