"I hope that under the new U.S. administration — under President Trump’s administration — peace will be more actively promoted on a global scale. We are ready to cooperate with all states, including all superpowers, that are oriented toward peace," said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during his speech at the Tbilisi Regional Forum on Sustainable Development.
According to him, China is a superpower that has not participated in any war for the past 45 years and has been entirely focused on progress, modernization, and economic development — and the results are evident.
"The world today is full of serious challenges, especially when it comes to peace. There is an ongoing military conflict in our broader region, a large-scale war. Unfortunately, we are surrounded by several wars, and in such a situation, it is important to speak about the significance of peace.
Superpowers play a major role in all of this when we talk about strengthening peace globally. Today’s conference is addressed by the Ambassador of China to Georgia, and I believe China is exactly the kind of superpower that should serve as a model for others. Over the past 45 years, China has not taken part in a single war and has been entirely focused on progress, modernization, and economic development — and the results, I believe, are clearly visible. We should especially appreciate this country’s role not only in the region but also globally in contributing to peace.
The messages coming from the new U.S. president in this regard are very encouraging — they emphasize the importance of peace, and I hope that under the new administration, under President Trump’s leadership, peace will be more actively encouraged around the world. We are ready to cooperate with all countries, including all superpowers, that are focused on peace, economic development, and ensuring greater well-being for their people,” the Prime Minister stated.
