According to officially declared data, 2 472 permissions were granted in January-March of 2026 (4.8 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year) for construction of buildings with total area of 2 367.6 thousand square meters (8.6 percent less compared to the same period of the previous year). Almost three-quarters of construction permits are issued in four regions, namely: 48.7 percent in Tbilisi, 10.1 percent in Kvemo Kartli region, 7.8 and 7.8 percent in Kakheti and Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.
Note that in January-March of 2026, permissions were granted for the construction of multifunctional residential complexes, trade facilities, hotels, industrial enterprises, objects for agricultural purposes, and other buildings.
683 objects (2.1 percent less compared to the same period of the previous year) with total area of 722.5 thousand square meters (9.5 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year) were completed in January-March of 2026.
More than two-thirds of the completed constructions are distributed among four regions of the country, namely: 31.8 percent is located in Tbilisi, 13.8 percent – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 12.3 percent – in Kvemo Kartli Region and 10.7 percent – in Kakheti region.
