The summer season was successful in terms of tourism. We had approximately 80% occupancy against 65% last year - Malkhaz Udesiani, executive director at Chubu Hotel in Mestia, says.
In Malkhaz Udesiani’s words, almost 100% of vacationers were European tourists, including from Italy, Poland and Germany.
Malkhaz Udesiani notes that in August there was very high demand from local tourists.
"It’s worth mentioning that this year the number of domestic tourists has increased, the reason for this is that local residents prefer to spend their holidays in Georgia rather than abroad", Executive Director at Chubu hotel points out.
Apart from that, Malkhaz Udesiani adds that the number of walking tourists has also soared thanks to the development of tourist routes, noting that in this regard there are still many places to be developed.
