In July 2025 the volume of money transfers from abroad constituted 336,99 million USD (914,6 million GEL), which is 13,0% (38,9 million USD) more than the amount in July 2024.
The downward trend in remittances from Russia continues. According to official data of the National Bank of Georgia, in the first 7 months of this year, the volume of remittances from Russia to Georgia decreased by 28% annually, to 263.5 million US dollars.
As a result, the Russian Federation, which ranked first in the list of countries in January-July last year, now ranks third after the US and Italy.
It is noteworthy that the share of Russia in remittances fell to a historic low in January this year - 10.5%, and then rose to 13.43% as of July.
It is noteworthy that after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, thanks to the migration effect, the volume of remittances from Russia in 2022 reached a record level and exceeded US$ 2 billion, this figure was high even in 2023, after which the situation began to normalize.
The dynamics of money transfers from Russia to Georgia in the last 5 years is as follows:

In July 2025, remittances from Russia declined by 0.5% year-on-year and became the third largest source of remittances - $45.3 million.
