The lari has been keeping falling over the past few days. Last week, the lari lost its value on all five trading days — 9.71 tetri against the euro, by 4.22 tetri against the dollar.
At trading on January 24 alone, the Georgian national currency depreciated against the dollar by 2.07 tetri, against the euro by 4.26 tetri.
Today's official exchange rate is set at 1USD/2.8834 GEL, 1EUR/ 3.0247GEL.
Note: the past 2024 was also a rather undynamic year for the currency market. In the first half of the year, the lari mainly strengthened against the dollar, but in the summer the national currency started its free fall and stabilized in the fall, although by the end of the year it depreciated again.
