17 commercial banks operating in Georgia earned GEL 3.1 billion in net profit in 2024 that is ₾380 million more than in 2023.
As of December 2024, the total credit portfolio of banks amounted to GEL 62.2 billion that is an 18% increase annually.
Overall, in 2024, the deposit portfolio of Georgian banks expanded by GEL 7.7 billion or 15% and hit GEL 58.3 billion.
Apart from that, in 2024, bank employees' salaries and other personal expenses soared to GEL 1.3 billion making an increase of GEL 177 million or 16%. Administrative and office expenses sood at GEL 423 million.
Banks paid GEL 561 million in profit tax last year.
