As per the data for February 2025, Georgia's public external debt exceeded $8.577 billion (approximately 24.164 billion GEL) that is $29.6 million more than in January of the current year.

According to data published by the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, the largest creditors of the Georgian state are the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)

In particular, Georgia owes the most debt to the following organizations:

• Asian Development Bank (ADB) – 2.261 billion dollars


• World Bank, International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) – 1.647 billion dollars


• European Investment Bank (EIB) – 1.080 billion dollars


• World Bank, International Development Association (IDA) – 459.7 million dollars


• International Monetary Fund (IMF) - 176.388 million dollars.
