The government plans to revise the economic growth forecast and increase it once again. Giorgi Kakauridze, Deputy Minister of Finance, states.
Kakauridze spoke about the main parameters of the next year budget noting that a 5% growth will be projected.
It’s worth mentioning that the government upgrades the growth forecast from 5% for the current year to 6%. In Giorgi Kakauridze’s words, the forecast will be further revised to 8%.
"[In the 2025 budget] the deficit will be at 2.5%, inflation will be kept within the target inflation rate. These are the main parameters. I cannot talk in advance about the funding of specific ministries as the process is ongoing.
As always, we are conservative with an average economic growth of 5%. In previous years and this year economic growth was higher. In 7 months of the current year, economic growth stood at 9.7%. This year, we have already revised it from 5% to 6%, we think it will be improved once again to 8%," Giorgi Kakauridze notes.
