In 11 months of 2024, Georgia exported 25,140 tons of tangerines worth USD 14.9 million, which was 47.2% more in value and 84.7% more in quantity compared to the same period of last year. Russia accounts for 77% of citrus fruits.
Tangerine exports to Russia soared by 108.2%. More specifically, this year Georgia sold more than 18 thousand tons of tangerines worth $11.5 million to Russia compared to 8,487 tons worth $5.5 million in the same period of last year.
TOP-5 exporting countries by tangerine exports are as follows:
Russia - 18,026 tons worth $11.5 million;
Armenia - 6,608 tons worth $3.8 million;
Ukraine - 340.1 tons worth $223 thousand;
Belarus - 40.4 tons for $39.1 thousand;
Azerbaijan - 84.4 tons for $33.7 thousand.
As a reminder, in early December Russia banned tangerine imports from occupied Abkhazia.
