In 2024, the production of perennial crops amounted to 620.5 thousand tons that is 133.6 thousand tons more than in the previous year- the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reports.
The increase in the production of perennial crops was mainly due to the increase in the production of grapes, apples, peaches and plums. In 2024, grape production increased by 100.8 thousand tons (45.7%), apples - by 26.3 thousand tons (52.2%), peaches and plums - by 10.4 thousand tons (35.4%).
In the reporting period, growth was also observed in other perennial crops, including a significant increase in the production of hazelnuts, pears, berries and other crops. Hazelnut production soared by 17.1% (6.3 thousand tons), pears - by 20.2% (1.9 thousand tons), berries - by 32.8% (1.9 thousand tons).
