Georgia imported USD 1.37 million worth of garlic in the first seven months of 2026, according to Geostat data. Imports totaled 1,064 tons, down sharply from $2.29 million and 1,698 tons in the same period last year.
The value of garlic imports fell by 40.3% year-on-year, while the volume decreased by 37.3%. The average import price also declined, with garlic becoming 29.1% cheaper in August.
China remained Georgia’s main garlic supplier, accounting for about 69% of total imports. Georgia purchased 732 tons worth $942,000 from China during January-July.
Kazakhstan ranked second with 156 tons worth $206,000, followed by Iran with 95 tons worth $111,000. Other suppliers included Turkey with $47,000, Kyrgyzstan with $29,000, and Uzbekistan with $29,000.
