In Georgia, gasoline platts price has soared by 5% in the last one month, diesel price - by 2%.

In particular, according to the State Procurement Agency, in October the arithmetic average of gasoline platts price was set at $727.08 (in September - $695.05), for Eurodiesel - $674.64 (in September - $663.71).

Thus, the gasoline cost increased by $32.03, diesel fuel - by $10.93.

According to Vakhtang Iobashvili, the chairman of the Union of Oil Products Importers, all this was caused by the political tension in the world and specifically in the Middle East.

"Oil-producing countries believe that a tense situation causes oil price hikes.

We do not bring fuel from the Middle East, but this affects the global oil exchanges and unions. The "plattz" is not set by one entity or one country, it is set by the OPEC countries.

I don't expect the price of oil to rise sharply, although it is still impossible to predict anything. As I said, it is set by the "OPEC" countries, when the price is set, for example, by the London and New York stock exchanges, as well as the uranium fuel unions in Russia, all the data are gathered, and based on this, price changes.

Oil price arrhythmias are nothing new and should not be surprising. "The platts price will be set tonight, its price will be determined and based on this, will be determined in the near future," Iobashvili notes. According to the chairman of the Union of Oil Product Importers, Israel and Iran must de-escalate the conflict since this factor affects the global oil price.

"This conflict cannot even be allowed to happen because it will affect the global oil market. Even our neighbor Azerbaijan supplies us with oil at platts price, it has no right to trade with us under a different formula, thus this war will affect our country too," Iobashvili stresses.
