In 2023, the losses reimbursed by insurance companies to consumers exceeded GEL 614 million against GEL 495 million in the same period of 2022.
"GPI" paid out the largest amount of losses in the amount of GEL 119 million. TBC Insurance is the second with GEL 82 million while Ardi took the third place with GEL 74 million.
In 2023, the insurance premium raised from direct insurance activities stood at GEL 1 063,6 million. The insurance profit of insurers was GEL 248,5 million, the net profit stood at GEL 73,5 million.
Last year, the rating of the companies by collected premiums also changed compared to 2022. "Aldagi" overtook "Imedi L" and took the fourth place. "BB Insurance" moved from the last places to the sixth place.
As of December 31, 2023, 18 insurance companies licensed to sell life and non-life insurance were registered in the country.
