Russia is still
the leader in rapid transfers. Like in previous years, Russia has not lost its
position in term of transfers from and to Georgia .
Specifically, in October 2019 the
transfers through Zolotaia Korona made 40-43%
of total transfers.
It’s worth mentioning that until the fall of 2012, Intel Express and Unistream had held the leading position on the local market of money transfers for years.
However, since the fall of 2012, Zolotaia Korona has maintained the leading positions.
A volume of remittances in Georgia totaled $ 175.66 million in October 2019, which is 9.7% more than in the same period of last year. In October 2018, inflow of money transfers amounted to $ 158.58 million.
In October 2019, $ 153.2 million were transferred to Georgia and $ 22.4 million were transferred from the country.
Of this, $ 33.7 million were transferred to the country through Zolotaia Korona and $ 9.7 million from Georgia.
27.5 million were transferred to Georgia through Western Union (18%), $ 6.9 million (30.9%) from the country.
$ 27.4 million (17.9%) were transferred to the country through RIA system, $ 942 thousand (4.2%) from the country.
$ 10.8 million (7%) were transferred to the country through Intel Express and USD 1 million (4.7%) from the country.
