Volume of loans issued by banks up GEL 1.89 billion in September 2020

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) in September 2020 increased by GEL 1.89 billion or by 5.49% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 1.73%) and constituted GEL 36.38 billion  by October 1, 2020. The volume of loans in national currency increased by GEL 552.91 million  (3.70%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency increased by 1.34 billion GEL or by 6.85% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.23%).

 

By the end of September 2020, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to GEL 4.69 billion (6.03% more compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted GEL 12.81 billion (7.03% more; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 0.40%).



In September 2020, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 4.23% or GEL 732.34 million , and amounted to  GEL 18.05 billion  as of  October 1, 2020.
