Representatives of the tourism sector will hold a rally  on Monday and will put forward a number of demands to the government, Tsotne Japaridze, Director of the travel company Traffic Travel, says.

According to Japaridze, the action in front of the government building will be held under the motto "Save Tourism!"

“The action will be held on behalf of all segments of the tourism industry without involving political parties. Our demands have already been voiced at the meetings with government officials  and remain unchanged.

Our paramount demand  is to restore regular flights with safe Covid-19 countries . As reported, the government has already decided to resume flights with 5 countries of the European Union. This is a small step forward but not sufficient.

Regular flights should be restored with other safe COVID-19 countries.

We demand the Georgian government to cooperate  with the airlines that better than others have shown themselves and performed  regular flights.

We also protest against quarantine measures against Georgian citizens who will come to the country from abroad.

The tourism sector also considers it necessary to appoint regular flights and determine specific dates in order foreign partners to have the opportunity of working for the long run.
