The turnover in the hospitality industry grew in Georgia

According to the National Statistical Office, the turnover of restaurants and hotels operating in the country increased by GEL 72 million in the second quarter of 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to GEL 501.4 million, while in the second quarter of 2018 it made GEL  429.4 million.

 At the same time, the number of employees in the sectors is also growing - in the second quarter of 2018, 35 644 people worked in hotels and restaurants, while now this figure reached 38 690, of which 23 660 are employed in restaurants, cafes, bars and night clubs .

the average monthly salary in the above sectors increased by GEL 58, which in the second quarter of 2019 amounted to GEL 925, while in the same period of 2018 it made GEL  867.


The average salary in the  sectors is not evenly distributed -  in the hotel business it amounts to  GEL 1 190 per month, while in the restaurant business -  GEL 757.
