The cost of borrowing in Georgian lari became more expensive

According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), in June 2020 the average interest rate on consumer loans was 16.2% which is 2% higher than in the same period of 2019.

 


At the same time, it  decreased by 2.1% compared to May.

 

It’s worth mentioning  that the interest on loans in the national currency increased by 2, 8% compared to June 2019, but was cut by 2,!% compared to May 2020.

At the same time, the interest rate on loans in foreign currency is decreasing and  in June it stood at  6.9%, which is 0.2% less than in the same period in 2019.
