According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), the volume of money transfers from Russia amounted to $ 163.7 million in five months of 2019. In January-May a total of $ 663,4 million were transferred to the country.
Russia's share on the Georgian money transfers market accounts for 25%.

As reported, the Committee on Foreign Affairs supports the proposal, already expressed by the leadership of the United Russia party in the State Duma, to restrict the supply of products, in particular wine, mineral water and other products originating from Georgia, as well as to freeze the flow of remittances between the two countries.
