Russia in the lead in Georgia’s money transfers market

Russia still remains the leader in terms of remittances  to Georgia. the top five of the counties   remains unchanged and includes  Russia, Italy, Greece, the United States and Israel.

According to  the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), the volume of money transfers from Russia amounted to $ 163.7 million in five months of 2019. In January-May a total of $ 663,4 million were transferred to the country.

Russia's share on the Georgian money transfers market accounts for  25%.

 Money Transfer from Russia , as per  NBG’s data in January-May:

January - 27 597 300 $;

February - 31 616 100 $;

 March - 35 416 540 $;

April - 34 345 800 $;

May - 34 797 900 $

As reported,   the Committee on Foreign Affairs supports the proposal, already expressed by the leadership of the United Russia party in the State Duma, to restrict the supply of products, in particular wine, mineral water and other products originating from Georgia, as well as to freeze the flow of remittances between the two  countries.
