Passenger traffic at Georgian airports up 4%

In  11 months of 2019, Georgian airports carried 4,869,190 passengers by regular and charter flights which is  4% more than in the same period of 2018 (4,696,115).

As of November, passenger traffic growth was observed at all international and local airports except Tbilisi:

In  October  Tbilisi Airport handled  214,571 passengers, which is 18% more than in the same period of 2018. The airport served 3,470,438 passengers in January-October (3,547,553 passengers in 2018).

Passenger traffic at Kutaisi International Airport increased by 50% in November 2019 to 72,032 passengers (47,868 passengers in 2018). As of 11 months, Kutaisi International Airport served 791,356 passengers in January-November, which is 41% more than in the same period of last year (in 2018 -  560,254 passengers).

In November 2019, Batumi Alexander Kartveli International Airport served 26,311 passengers that is 7% more than in the same period of last year (2018 - 24,677 passengers). In 11 months, the number of passengers at Batumi International Airport increased by 3% year-on-year and amounted to 597,939. (2018 -580,370 passengers).


Mestia Airport handled  7,658 passengers in 11 months that  is 19% more than in the same period of last year (2018 - 6,439 passengers). In November, Mestia Airport served  572  passengers which is 99 % more than in  the same period of the previous  year (2018 - 288 passengers).

Ambrolauri Airport served 1 799 passengers in January-November 2019, which is 20% more than in  the same period of last year (2018 - 1,499 passengers).

As of November, Ambrolauri Airport served 130 passengers that is 83% more than in the same period of last year (2018- 71 passengers).

In a 11-month period, local airports handled 9,457 passengers that is  19% more than in the previous year (7,938 – 2018).
