Passenger traffic at Georgian airports up 4%

In  10 months of 2019, Georgian airports carried 4,555,673 passengers by regular and charter flights which is  4% more than in the same period of 2018 (4,362,002).

As of October, passenger traffic growth was observed at all international and local airports except Tbilisi:

In  October  Tbilisi Airport handled  284,442 passengers, which is 15 % more than in the same period of 2018. The airport served 3,255,965 passengers in January-October (3,286,344 passengers in 2018).

Passenger traffic at Kutaisi International Airport increased by 44% in October 2019 to 89,232 passengers (62,000 passengers in 2018). As of 10 months, Kutaisi International Airport served 719,324 passengers in January-October, which is 40% more than in the same period of last year (in 2018 -  512,386 passengers).

In October 2019, Batumi Alexander Kartveli International Airport served 47,536 passengers that is 13% more than in the same period of last year (2018 - 41,980 passengers). In 10 months, the number of passengers at Batumi International Airport increased by 3% year-on-year and amounted to to 571,629. (2018 -555,693 passengers).


Mestia Airport handled  7,086 passengers in 10 months that  is 15% more than in the same period of last year (2018 - 6,151 passengers). In October, Mestia Airport served  852 passengers which is 5% more than in  the same period of the previous  year (2018 - 810 passengers).

Ambrolauri Airport served 1 669 passengers in January-October 2019, which is 17% more than in  the same period of last year (2018 - 1,428 passengers).

As of October, Ambrolauri Airport served 222 passengers in October that is 40% more than in the same period of last year (2018- 159 passengers).

In a 10-month period, local airports handled 8,755 passengers that is  16% more than in the previous year (7,579 – 2018).
