Passenger traffic at Georgian airports down 11% in August

Passenger traffic in Georgia's airports decreased by 11%  in August 2019. According to the Civil Aviation Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, in the reporting period  Georgian airports carried 583,104 passengers by regular and charter flights. 

In January- August period  Georgian airports handled 3,640,823 passengers that is 8% more than in the corresponding period of last year.

The increase was observed only at  Kutaisi International Airport as Russia’s travel ban had not almost affected its  statistics.

Tbilisi International Airport served 97,045 passengers in August 2019, which is 14% less than in the same period of last year, in January- August 2019- 2,651,918 (3% growth).


In August 2019, passenger flow increased by 22% at Kutaisi International Airport and reached 88,138 passengers  while in January-August the airport handled  538,234 passengers (41% growth).

In January-May  2019, 444,310 passengers traveled from Batumi Aleksandre Kartveli International Airport that  is 5% more compared to the same period of the last year.

 

The domestic airports 6,361 passengers in 8months that is  16% more than in the same period of last year .
