Amid pandemic, the renovated
Kutaisi International Airport sees positive dynamics of air traffic. The Union
of Georgian Airports reports about it.
According to the United Airports of Georgia, in August passenger flow at David the Builder Airport was restored by 52% compared to the same period of 2019. In August 2021, Kutaisi International Airport handled 45,922 passengers. (August 2019 - 87,969 passengers).
Apart from the passengers flow, dynamics of flight resumption is also positive, the mark reaches 70%: July 2021 - 186 flights, July 2019 - 267 flights
Kutaisi International Airport also has positive dynamics in terms of restoring the number of flights. In August, 69% of flights at the airport were resumed. (2021 August - 188 flights, 2019 August - 274 flights).
Currently, 3 airlines operate flights in 19 destinations to 11 countries from Kutaisi International Airport.
“Out of 188 flights performed at Kutaisi International Airport in August, 165 were regular and 23 were charter flights. Starting from September 28, our strategic partner Wizz Air will add the Krakow destination from Kutaisi Airport. Negotiations are also underway with some air carriers on the return to the market and adding new directions," Tamar Archuadze, Head of the United Airports of Georgia, notes.
In September 111 regular flights will
be operated from Kutaisi International Airport to Europe, 52 regular flights to
Asia.
