According to the data for 2019, the number of subscribers in the Georgian Internet market continues to grow drastically.
In particular, in 2019 the number of fixed Internet subscribers in Georgia increased by 73,000 people, as a result of which Internetization in the country reached 83% of the total population of the country.
In 2013, the counrty’s internetization rate stood at 42% and was distributed extremely unevenly - the Internet coverage in rural areas was several times less than in cities.
This figure continues to grow - in 2019 a total of 896,000 families had a fixed Internet, but in the first quarter of 2020, this figure grew to 914,000.
According to the International Telecommunication Union, in recent years, Georgia has caught up with leading European countries and overtook the United States in terms of Internetization.
